Assignment:  Create an 18"x18" collage based on Philip Johnson and his architectural ideals.


After studying Philip Johnson and his famous "Glass House", students explored through collage his architectural philosophies and ideals.  The only limitations were creativity and canvas size.

Inferring design intentions

Abstract. Designers draw to explore ideas and solutions. We look at empirical studies of the use of drawing in design, including our own work on the connection between graphic symbols and specific design concerns. We describe an empirical study on sketching for designing an architect's office. We found that designers use different drawing conventions when thinking about different design concerns. We are implementing a freehand drawing program to recognize these drawing conventions and to deliver appropriate knowledge based support for the task at hand.Find out more at: Inferring design intentionsan investigation of freehand drawing conventions in design

CTEA Interdisciplinary Project
























Mr. Z's 10th grade architecture classes will soon begin the fall/winter interdisciplinary project.  This year we will be creating a large model of the Periodic Table of Elements to be displayed in the lobby.
